Mr
Torres-Figueras has been associated with Globepharm
Consulting since 1992, specializing in GMP, Quality
and Regulatory activities for the Healthcare Manufacturing
Industries. A senior member of Globepharm Consulting,
Mr. Torres-Figueras has worked with many national
and international companies in Europe and the Americas
to develop, improve and implement management control
systems necessary for facility and operations compliance
with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
During the course of his career Mr. Torres-Figueras
had held senior management positions in bulk pharmaceutical
chemical manufacturing and the manufacture of pharmaceutical
dosage forms. In these positions he has worked in,
and managed, the process development, technology transfer,
manufacturing, quality assurance and regulatory functions.
This hands-on experience, acquired over sixteen years,
has given Mr. Torres-Figueras a unique approach to
problem solving and the development of regulatory
strategies.
In addition to auditing for compliance to National
and International quality standards, and to cGMPs,
Mr. Torres-Figueras has been involved in “due
diligence” and “application integrity”
audits for pharmaceuticals and medical devices where
clients are evaluating candidate companies for acquisition.
Background
Prior to being associated with Globepharm Consulting,
Mr. Torres previous work experience has included:
Organics LaGrange, USA. QA/QC Director, responsible
for all aspects of QC laboratory operations and GMP
compliance implementation.
GD Searle, USA. various functions culminating
in Compliance Manager – responsible for GMP compliance
for bulk pharmaceutical and finished dosage form manufacture.
Smith Kline and French. Various functions culminating
in Senior Development Chemist – involved with
bulk chemical process optimization, production transfer,
production and quality control.
A scientist by training, Mr. Torres-Figueras holds
a first degree in Chemistry, and an advanced degree
(MS) in Biochemistry. He is an active member of regulatory
and technical associations (including ASQC, PDA, and
RAPS) and is a certified ISO 9000 Assessor/Auditor.
Mr. Torres-Figueras lectures on auditing techniques
for cGMP compliance.
